Apollo™ is a super high-alpha American hop developed by Hopsteiner and released in 2006. Known for its exceptionally high alpha acid content and low cohumulone levels, Apollo™ provides a clean, assertive bitterness, making it an excellent choice for bittering additions. When used late in the boil or for dry hopping, it imparts flavors and aromas of grapefruit, lime, orange, pine, resin, and cannabis.
Apollo was bred from Zeus and a male with (98001 x USDA 19058m) lineage. Its high alpha acid content, excellent storage stability, and disease resistance make it a favorite among brewers seeking a reliable bittering hop. When used in late additions, Apollo contributes a pleasant aroma that complements a wide range of beer styles.
