Centennial Cryo Hops® are the concentrated lupulin fraction of the beloved Centennial hop, often referred to as “Super Cascade” for its bright citrus and floral profile. Developed in the 1970s and released in 1990, Centennial is prized for its dual-purpose versatility—delivering clean bitterness and expressive aroma in hop-forward beers. The Cryo Hops® version intensifies its juicy, resinous, and citrus character, making it ideal for IPAs, Pale Ales, and beyond.
Centennial was developed through a USDA breeding program and released in 1990. Sometimes called "Super Cascade," it shares that variety's grapefruit and floral notes but offers higher alpha acids and a deeper, more resinous character. While it has seen peaks and valleys in commercial use, Centennial is enjoying a resurgence—especially in West Coast IPAs and modern craft interpretations. The Cryo Hops® version, processed using Yakima Chief’s LupuLN2® technology, delivers enhanced aroma and flavor with reduced vegetal matter, allowing brewers to get more hop intensity with less weight.
